Some projects take years to come together. By the time Edwards & Hardy were brought in, the PGG Wrightson Napier Wool Store reroof had already been underway for seven years. In May 2025, the task was clear: complete the final 4,040 square metres — within a tight timeframe and on a live site.
Working With Napier's Weather
Napier delivered its usual mix of conditions. Windy days, shifting forecasts, and narrow work windows meant the team had to stay flexible. Planning mattered, but so did making the right calls on the day. When the weather closed in, the crew adapted. When conditions cleared, they moved.
How the Team Got It Done
Early starts became routine. Progress came in stages. Toolbox meetings, lift planning, and safety checks set the tone each day, and the crew kept momentum even when conditions weren't ideal. It was the kind of steady, disciplined approach that a project of this scale demands — nothing flashy, just consistent forward progress.
By the end of the month, the roof was finished.
A Result Built on Preparation and Teamwork
The project was delivered safely, injury-free, and on schedule. PGG Wrightson were pleased with the outcome, and for the Edwards & Hardy team it was a solid result — a job that came together through preparation, teamwork, and a shared focus on doing it right.
